It is a moment to cherish as Tourism Malaysia’s advertisement is feeling like a star after being selected by the juries of the Advisory Panel for ‘Thomas Edison Advertisement (TEA) Award’ as the ‘Best International Tourism AD” and has been given the title of ‘Journey of Delight’. As for the record, the award was presented by Sudarshan Nachiappana, Minister of State for Industry and Commerce, Government of India, at a congregation of dignitaries and celebrities last week in Chennai.

This winning advertisement projects a young couple celebrating their love among the peaceful and luxurious spots in Malaysia. The advertisement depicts the couple’s mischievousness as they visit a collection of striking locations. This same young couple visits Malaysia for many years hereafter, but their bond with the country remains as good as new.

The Thomas Edison Advertisement Awards is held in the remembrance of Thomas J Barrat, the father of modern day advertisement and Edison, a personality responsible for the wide range of entertainment. Barratt is often addressed as the father of modern advertisement and his pioneering contributions are till date looked upon with a high regard.
TEA Awards includes awards based on 50 different categories of several brands and services. This is the first time that the advertisements in electronic media are being honoured for their contribution in ad-word with their flair in various departments. This TEA award ceremony is classified into 33 different categories and Jury awards.
